Haiti are facing yet another crisis

You may have seen the news coverage that the poor of Haiti are facing yet another crisis, the high inflation of food, resulting in millions of hungry, malnourished people. Some sources say that food prices have risen by 50% in the last few months. Rice, a basic staple of the poor. has increased 100%. And wages remain at less than $2 a day for most Haitians.

Yesterday, Dumas and I spoke to members of the Sové Lavi (Saving Lives) staff in Haiti. The stories of hunger were tragic. One man hadn’t eaten for 3 days, nor had his children. He said his stomach felt like battery acid — as though his stomach and back had become fused as one. This is one story of millions in this poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

Sové Lavi is joining other NGO’s and the world community in helping to feed the poor and starving in Haiti. With $30 your donation will feed 3 children for almost 3 months. Your donations will go directly to the people of Haiti–no administrative fees will be paid from your donation.

Thank you for your continued support.
